How much does a long-term car lease cost in the UAE?

A long-term lease costs from AED 1,445 a month + 5% VAT (MG 3, 12 months), and every 3, 6 and 12-month contract is 5%, 10% and 15% below the one-month rate.

A Suzuki Dzire costs AED 1,800 on one month and AED 1,530 a month on 12 months: AED 18,360 + VAT for the year (AED 19,278 with VAT), AED 3,240 less than twelve one-month contracts. That covers 54,000 km, insurance, registration and servicing.

Lease vs rent-to-own vs buying in the UAE — which is cheaper?

A lease has the lowest upfront cost — AED 0 beyond a refundable card hold — and no resale risk; rent-to-own adds a 15% down payment and ends with the car in your name; buying puts insurance, servicing, registration and depreciation on you.

Lease if you may leave the UAE, change jobs or want a different car within a few years. Rent to own — priced car by car on the lease-to-own page — suits someone who wants to keep the car and cannot get, or does not want, a bank loan. Buy when you have the credit history and expect to keep the car for years. The monthly-rental side of the decision is covered in leasing vs renting in Dubai.

What is included in a long-term lease?

Five things are inside the monthly figure on every Pindi Boys Car Rental lease.

  • Comprehensive insurance that stays valid in all seven emirates
  • 4,500 km every month, with no daily cap and nothing charged per km inside that allowance
  • Registration renewal and routine servicing, booked and paid by us
  • Delivery and collection at no charge anywhere in mainland Dubai
  • A replacement car for as long as yours is in the workshop

The insurance detail — AED 1,500 excess on standard cars, removable with CDW at 25% of the rental — is on the insurance page, and how the allowance is counted is on the mileage page.

What is not included?

Tolls, fuel, fines, VAT and the card hold sit outside the monthly figure.

  • Salik tolls — charged at cost, plus AED 1 admin per crossing
  • Fuel — the car goes back at the level it was handed over
  • Traffic fines — charged at cost, plus AED 50 admin per fine
  • 5% UAE VAT — added on top of every figure on this page
  • The card pre-authorisation — no cash deposit is taken, and the hold is released in full within 21 days of return
  • Kilometres beyond 4,500 in a month — AED 0.50 per km

Can expats and tourists lease a car long-term in the UAE?

Yes: residents lease on a UAE driving licence and Emirates ID, and visitors on their passport, visa and home licence — plus an International Driving Permit unless that licence is from a GCC country or one of the 25 on the UAE's accepted list.

The minimum age is 21 for standard cars. There is no minimum period for holding a licence, but under 6 months a 25% surcharge and full insurance apply. Every renter needs a credit card in their own name for the pre-authorisation.

Documents: a driving licence; a passport (visitors) or Emirates ID (residents); and the credit card. Photos on WhatsApp are enough to prepare the contract. The full list is on the documents page and the age rules on the minimum-age page.

Leasing outside Dubai — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, RAK, Al Ain

The same lease, at the same rates, covers every emirate: the insurance is valid in all seven, and the car is delivered from Dubai to the other five listed here.

What changes between emirates is only the delivery leg. A Sharjah commuter on a 12-month contract pays the same monthly figure as a driver in Dubai Marina, and Abu Dhabi delivery is priced to the drop point in writing before anything is signed.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best car leasing options in the UAE for a long-term rental?+
There are three: a long-term lease of 3, 6 or 12 months from AED 1,445 a month + VAT with insurance, servicing and 4,500 km a month included; rent to own over 12, 24 or 36 months with a 15% down payment; and buying with a bank loan. With Pindi Boys Car Rental the first two need no credit check.
What is the cheapest long-term car lease in the UAE?+
With Pindi Boys Car Rental it is the MG 3 at AED 1,445 a month + 5% VAT on a 12-month contract (AED 1,700 on one month), including insurance, registration, servicing and 4,500 km a month.
How much is a 12-month car lease in Dubai?+
A 12-month lease on the Suzuki Dzire is AED 1,530 a month + VAT, or AED 18,360 + VAT for the year — 15% below the one-month rate of AED 1,800. It includes insurance, registration, servicing and 54,000 km across the year.
Can I lease a car in the UAE without a credit card deposit?+
There is no cash deposit, but a credit card is required: a refundable pre-authorisation is held on it and released in full within 21 days of return, less any unpaid Salik, fines or damage. The amount held depends on the car category.
Is insurance included in a long-term car lease in the UAE?+
Yes. Comprehensive insurance valid in all seven emirates is included. The excess on standard cars is AED 1,500, and optional CDW at 25% of the rental removes it.
What is the mileage limit on a long-term lease?+
4,500 km a month on every contract length, with no daily cap — 54,000 km across a 12-month lease. Kilometres above the allowance cost AED 0.50 per km.
Can I end a long-term car lease early?+
Cancel at least 24 hours before delivery and any prepaid amount is refunded in full; inside 24 hours, or after delivery, the charge is up to one day's rental. Once the car is delivered, the month you are in is non-refundable unless agreed in writing. To end a 3, 6 or 12-month contract early, tell us on WhatsApp before your next monthly payment. The months you have driven are then re-priced at the rate for the term you actually completed — the one-month rate before 3 months, the 3-month rate (5% off) from 3 months, the 6-month rate (10% off) from 6 months — and there is no separate termination fee. Example: a 12-month Suzuki Dzire returned after 8 months was paid at AED 1,530 a month (AED 12,240); re-priced at the 6-month rate of AED 1,620 that is AED 12,960, so AED 720 + VAT is due.
Can I switch to a different car mid-contract?+
Yes. You can move to a different category with advance notice, and the monthly figure changes to that car's rate. If your car is in the workshop, a replacement car is provided.
Do I need a UAE driving licence to lease a car long-term?+
Residents do. Visitors can lease on their home licence with their passport and visa, plus an International Driving Permit unless the licence is from a GCC country or one of the 25 on the UAE's accepted list. The minimum age is 21.
Is leasing cheaper than buying a car in the UAE?+
Upfront, yes: a lease needs AED 0 beyond a refundable card hold, where a bank car loan typically needs a 20% down payment. The lease figure — from AED 1,445 a month + VAT — also covers insurance, registration and servicing, and leaves no resale loss at the end. Buying is better value only if you keep the car for many years.
Who pays for Salik and traffic fines on a lease?+
The driver. Salik is charged at cost plus AED 1 admin per crossing, and traffic fines at cost plus AED 50 admin per fine, billed at the end of each month or deducted from the card hold.
Can a company lease cars for staff?+
Yes — several cars on one agreement and one monthly invoice. See corporate car leasing or message us with the number of cars and the contract length.
