Traffic fines are passed on at the amount charged plus AED 50 admin per fine (+5% VAT), and fuel is returned at the level it was handed over; on chauffeur bookings Salik and fuel are included in the fare.

Short answer: on a self-drive rental Salik is not included — the car has a Salik tag fitted and you pay for the gates you actually drive through, at the Salik toll plus 5% VAT and AED 1 admin per crossing (+5% VAT). On a chauffeur or airport transfer booking, Salik is included in the fixed fare.
The toll is AED 6 from 6–10am and 4–8pm Monday to Saturday, AED 4 at other times and all day Sunday, free from 1–6am (Salik shifts the hours during Ramadan). Since 1 June 2026 Salik adds 5% VAT, so a gate is AED 4.20 off-peak or AED 6.30 peak. We add AED 1 admin per crossing (+5% VAT) and nothing else, and you get the record.
