Is Salik Included in Car Rental Dubai?
Self-drive: the car has a Salik tag and you pay the gates you actually pass, at cost, plus AED 1 admin per crossing. Chauffeur and airport transfers: Salik is already included in the fixed fare.
Short answer: on a self-drive rental Salik is not included — the car has a Salik tag fitted and you pay for the gates you actually drive through, at cost. On a chauffeur or airport transfer booking, Salik is included in the fixed fare.
We add AED 1 admin per crossing and nothing else. The toll itself is exactly what the RTA charged — we do not mark it up, and you get the record.

How much is Salik per crossing?+
The toll itself is whatever the RTA charges at that gate — we pass it through at cost with no mark-up. We add AED 1 admin per crossing on top.
How do I know how many Salik gates I passed?+
Crossings are logged against the car's plate. You get the record, so you can check what you are being charged for rather than seeing a lump sum.
When is Salik deducted?+
From the refundable card pre-authorisation, which is released in full within 21 days of returning the car, subject to no outstanding fines, Salik or damage.
Are traffic fines handled the same way?+
Yes — passed through at cost with AED 50 admin handling per fine. Nothing is added on top of what the RTA charged.
Can I avoid Salik gates?+
Sometimes, but the detour usually costs more in fuel and time than the toll. On chauffeur bookings our drivers use toll-aware routing where it genuinely saves you money.
