Which Porsche to Take

Two very different 911s. The GT3 Weissach is the track-derived one — naturally aspirated, stripped, and the most demanding car on this list to drive well. The Turbo Cabriolet is the one you take down Jumeirah Beach Road with the roof down. If you have not driven a 911 before, start with the Turbo.

What It Actually Costs

The daily rate is the daily rate. Here is everything else, in full:

  • VAT — 5%, added by law.
  • Deposit — no cash deposit. A refundable pre-authorisation of AED 5,000 – 15,000 is held on a credit card in the driver's name and released within 21 days of return.
  • Insurance excess — AED 10,000 on exotics, and only if you are at fault. It can be reduced with the optional CDW.
  • Mileage — 250 km a day; beyond that it is charged per kilometre.
  • Salik tolls — at cost: AED 5.25 off-peak and AED 7.35 at peak per crossing, admin and VAT included.
  • Fines — at cost plus AED 50 admin plus 5% VAT (AED 52.50), with the fine number.
  • Smoking in the car — AED 500.
  • Delivery and collection — free across Dubai, DXB included, with no airport surcharge.

Who Can Drive It

The minimum age on exotic and sports models is 25, and the credit card used for the hold has to be in the driver's own name. Visitors from the GCC and from the countries on the UAE's published list — the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, Japan and most of Western Europe — drive on their own licence. Everyone else needs an International Driving Permit carried with it. Speed is camera-enforced to the kilometre here, and on a car in this class the fines follow. Trips into Oman are not permitted on these vehicles.

The Rest of the Fleet

The full exotic and luxury range is on luxury car rental Dubai and sports car rental, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and Range Rover. If you would rather be driven, a car with a driver is available on every model here.
