City Walk is Meraas’ open-air district in Al Wasl: low-rise apartments sitting directly above the boulevard, with Coca-Cola Arena, Roxy Cinemas and The Green Planet inside the same few blocks. It is genuinely pleasant on foot and genuinely awkward without a car — there is no metro station in City Walk itself, and the district sits wedged between Al Wasl Road and Sheikh Zayed Road. Residents, arena visitors and anyone staying a week or more end up needing wheels. Driving & Parking in City Walk
Parking
City Walk parking is paid multi-storey — the decks off Al Safa Street and Al Wasl Road — while the residences have their own basement bays. On arena nights the public decks fill before doors open, so arriving early is the difference between a two-minute walk and twenty minutes circling.
Salik
The Al Safa gate sits on Sheikh Zayed Road just south of City Walk. Almost every local trip — Downtown, Jumeirah, La Mer, Safa Park — can be done on Al Wasl Road instead, which means no toll at all.
Traffic
Al Wasl Road backs up at school run and again at arena turnout. Al Safa Street is usually the quicker way onto Sheikh Zayed Road, and cutting out through Downtown is slower than the map suggests during Fountain hours.

Best cars for City Walk
City Walk parking decks are tight and the boulevard is a street where people notice what you pull up in. The compact MG ZS handles both — easy in the basement, smart at valet. Residents on a monthly plan usually take the Suzuki Ciaz (from AED 1,700/month) or the JAC S3. Coming in as a group for an arena night, the Mitsubishi Xpander or a Chevrolet Captiva 7-seater. For the Jumeirah end of the street, the Mercedes S-Class.

Al Wasl and Safa Park — the villa side
Cross Al Wasl Road and City Walk becomes low-rise villas backing onto Safa Park. Free driveway parking, school runs to the Jumeirah schools, and families who want a second car for a month rather than a day. The 7-seaters and the monthly plans live here.
Jumeirah 1 and the beach run
Toward the coast the district shades into Jumeirah 1, La Mer and Pearl Jumeira. Short hops, beach parking, and visitors who booked a hotel here and discovered that everything they wanted to see is a 20-minute drive away. Weekly rentals, usually.

Rent a car in City Walk — every version of the search
People search for this four or five different ways — car rental city walk, rent a car city walk dubai, car hire city walk, rent a car al wasl — and every one of them means the same thing: a car brought to a building somewhere between Al Wasl Road and the beach. Yes. The City Walk residences have basement parking, and there are paid multi-storey decks for visitors. On Coca-Cola Arena event nights the public decks fill up early, so arrive before doors open if you can.
Will I pay Salik driving from City Walk?+
Usually not. The nearest gate is Al Safa on Sheikh Zayed Road, and most trips from City Walk — Downtown, Jumeirah, La Mer, Safa Park — can be driven on Al Wasl Road without crossing a toll gate.
What documents do I need to rent a car in Dubai?+
